Victus People Newsletter_August 2026

Last month, Thailand experienced a peak moment when a bunch of foreign exchange teenagers brought the entire country together. Those kids and their teacher/caretaker went back home with more cultural awareness than they’d planned for. 😬

Victus People had a few peak moments of our own last month. Here are 5 of them.

A Thailand Leadership Team Reviews its Crisis Management Playbook

One thing that separates average performing teams from high-performing ones is that they review their performance and processes regularly.

This leadership team had just come out the other side of a tough situation, and they got together to ask a harder question:

how well prepared are we for the next one?

This session helped them extract key learnings and walk away with 5 clear next steps.

Here’s what they had to say about their experience.

CEO of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited shares Cross-Functional Leadership Alignment Strategy

House of Wisdom Club Bangkok

The man is a fitness junkie with close to 0% body fat. 😳 He has spearheaded the brand’s evolution from a traditional health insurance company to “a holistic wellness and life-protection brand”

One of his biggest challenges was aligning his leaders to the bigger picture of the organisation. Something he says a lot of Thai companies struggle with.

His solution was to swap leaders across functions. He wanted them to see the bigger picture from different angles and build real empathy for each other’s work.

Another practice he put in place is reverse mentoring. From what we understood, he paired members of different ages together to mentor each other.

He was open about two big tech-related fears that keep insurance leaders up at night:

  1. Tests that could tell a client if they’re likely to get sick, even before they buy insurance
  2. Approval for Euthanasia, and what it could mean for life insurance

Technology is moving fast, and people are living longer. Every business has its own hard problems to solve.

10 HR & L&D Heads share Successes and Challenges

If you’ve been part of a Community of Practice, you’ll know it’s a place where:

  • You become part of a circle of professionals who are eager to grow
  • You learn just by listening to your peers
  • You land on solutions you hadn’t thought of on your own
  • You realise you’re not the only one facing this challenge

That’s exactly the feedback we got from this group too. At the end, we asked them to describe the session in one word. Here’s what came back:

Resilience. Ideas. Development. Insightful. Perspectives. Tools.

Insights to Impact #3, Victus People

A Leadership Team Designs One Connected Workplace Culture

When each country’s functional heads report to their own regional heads, silos are almost imminent.

This leadership team took it up upon themselves to build a “One Thailand Team Culture”.

A simple solution we have found for cross-functional leadership alignment is designing a common goal  everyone can stand behind.

It doesn’t have to be a business number. It could be as simple as sitting in on another function’s team meeting, or grabbing coffee with a peer you rarely work with.

This team decided to bring one cross-functional issue to their bi-monthly catch-up meetings for the next 90 days.

We support them through tools, processes and review structure to make it stick.

PATHA Team’s Awakening Studio session

Change begins at home.

We’re testing our own design by making every member of the team walk the same path we encourage our clients to walk.

For the next 90 days, we’re tracking our own growth and designing a lifestyle guided by our north star (our core values).

PATHA One day session

It’s something we wish for everyone: a life you don’t need a vacation to escape from. One you actually want to wake up to.

PATHA is our initiative to help high-functioning Thai professionals stop living on autopilot, and start designing a life intentionally built around who they truly are.

Amphawa

We took a break from city life and spent two days in this remote, quiet, simple getaway in Amphawa. The deal we got on Agoda was an absolute steal. Aanchal Gupta, please pass on our heartfelt thanks to Agoda. 😉
